Who we are

We are Supported Care and Accommodation Ltd.

We support people in their homes.

We keep information about you

We write down things like:

  • your name, address and phone number
  • your health and the medicines you take
  • the care and support you need
  • who your family are, and who speaks for you

Why we keep it

We keep this information so we can look after you well.

It helps our staff know what you need and keep you safe.

Who we share it with

Sometimes we need to share your information with other people who help you.

  • your doctor, nurse or hospital
  • your social worker or the council
  • the Care Quality Commission, who check we do a good job

We only share what they need to know.

We never sell your information.

We keep it safe

Your information is kept locked away or on a computer with a password.

Only staff who need to see it can see it.

Our staff are trained to keep your information private.

How long we keep it

We keep your care records for at least 8 years after we stop supporting you.

Then we destroy them safely.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

  • show you what we have written about you
  • change anything that is wrong
  • delete some information
  • stop using your information in a certain way

Asking is free. You do not have to say why.

You can also tell the Information Commissioner's Office. They check that organisations look after information properly.
